Austin Palmer-Smith studied painting with Lawrence Gipe at the University of California at Santa Barbara. After University he worked as artist assistant for painter Robert Natkin in Redding Connecticut. He then returned to New York City and began painting residential murals and commissions with his father, also a painter, for top designers and celebrities.
He currently paints in his studio on the upper east side of Manhattan.
