Austin Palmer-Smith studied painting with Lawrence Gipe at the University of California at Santa Barbara. After University he worked as artist assistant for painter Robert Natkin 2001-2002 in Redding Connecticut. He then returned to New York City and began painting residential murals and commissions with his father, also a painter, for top designers and celebrities.

He currently paints in his studio on the upper east side of Manhattan.
